Arsenal ace goads Tottenham after their Etihad humiliation
Arsenal goalkeeper Woijech Szczesny could not resist having a dig at Tottenham on his Facebook page after their 6-0 thrashing at Manchester City on Sunday, according to the Metro.
The Gunners stopper simply posted: ‘Wonderful scenes at the Etihad….’ a comment that has already drawn thousands of likes.
Szczesny’s subtle dig will have no doubt not gone down well with Tottenham fans, who have been left frustrated by their team’s performances this season.
Andre Villas-Boas’s side have managed just nine league goals all season, and currently sit ninth place in the Premier League, eight points off their great rivals Arsenal, who remain top of the pile.
AVB’s side could have moved into the top four with a win at the Etihad, however Tottenham came away with their dream of challenging for the title in tatters after being destroyed 6-0 by a rampant Manchester City.
Sergio Aguero and Jesus Navas both bagged a brace, while Alvaro Negredo continued his impressive form by scoring the fifth of the afternoon after forcing an own goal from Spurs midfielder Sandro.
Arsenal meanwhile moved four points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, after a 2-0 win over Southampton at the Emirates.
French forward Olivier Giroud scored both goals, first pouncing on an error from Saints keeper Artur Boruc, and then converting a late second from the penalty spot.
