Chelsea boss wants £60 million man ahead of goal machin
28 Nov 2013.
Chelsea are set to shelve plans to bid for Porto striker Jackson Martinez in favour of Monaco star Radamel Falcao.
The Blues have long been linked with the Colombian duo, who have both been in fine goalscoring form this season.
Martinez has hit eight goals in 10 Primeira Liga appearances, while Falcao has plundered nine goals in 13 Ligue 1 outings.
Martinez’s agent has even travelled to London to negotiate with Chelsea, according to Portuguese
publication A Bola, in the hope of securing his client a January move.
However, Blues boss Jose Mourinho is believed to prefer Falcao – who he failed to land in the summer.
The Stamford Bridge chief baulked at Atletico Madrid’s £51 million price-tag and was subsequently beaten to the punch by Monaco.
However, a move is now back on. (SportsDirectNews)
The window could be an exciting one, especially if Falcao arrives
