Playing in a winter wonderland... Spurs get to grips with snow inside the Arctic Circle
Andre Villas-Boas didn't ask his men to build a snowman, but if he had have, there was plenty of the white stuff around.
Spurs travelled 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle to the world's Northenmost top flight club, Tromso IL, who ply their trade in Norway's Tippeligaen.
With less than an hour of daylight a day and freezing temperatures, it's fair to say Tottenham's players will get something a little different to what they're used to.
Stunning: The Alfheim Stadion lights up the Tromso, the tiny Norwegian city where Spurs play in the Europa League tonight
After a full day of snow fall it took a major clearing effort to make the pitch ready for play.
Luckily the club are well prepared for this outcome, and have tractors and an army of volunteers ready to clear the artificial pitch, which has been specially installed.
Luckily for both sets of players the snow soon stopped falling after kick-off.
Tottenham eventually recorded a routine 2-0 victory.

North: Tromso are the world's northernmost top flight club, plying their trade in the Tippeligaen
Getting ready: A tractor clears the pitch ahead of the match
Almost there: The tractor gets to work on the penalty area
Ready to go: A small mountain of cleared snow is collected at the side of the artificial pitch
Warm up: Brad Friedel does his best to get prepared for the freezing conditions
Harsh climes: Chelsea played Tromso in the Cup Winners' Cup in 1997
Uncommon: Chelsea lost 3-2 to the Norwegian minnows
