West Ham 'putting their eggs in one basket' by not signing cover for Andy Carroll
DAVID GOLD claims West Ham have paid the price for “putting their eggs in one basket” in not signing another striker to cover the injury prone Andy Carroll.
West Ham smashed
their club record in the summer by stumping up £15million to sign
frontman Carroll, but the move has backfired with Carroll yet to pull on
a Hammers shirt this season due to injury.
They spent the remaining funds on winger Stewart Downing to leave the club woefully short up front this season.

said: “I thought we had spent our money wisely. Clearly we should have
bought a centre-forward and that’s my opinion. It does mean we put our
eggs in one basket.
“It is a dangerous thing,
not just in football but in life. We were concerned about the balance
and we have come unstuck. No stone will be left unturned to bring in
personnel in January.”
