Edinson Cavani's agent on Chelsea, Manchester United talk
Could either club really sign the superstar striker? Not likely according to one of his agents.
Edinson Cavani has been prolific for French champions PSG since arriving, scoring 16 goals in 18 starts.Whispers however continue to roll regarding his future, in part owing to his usual role on the right wing to accommodate Zlatan centrally.
The Mail remarkably claimed over the weekend that not only were Chelsea interested, but Manchester United too.
"Edinson Cavani could be a surprise departure from Paris St Germain in January. The Uruguayan is keen on a move to the Premier League despite making his move to France a relative success. Chelsea are maintaining interest following their failed bid to buy him in the summer while Manchester United will monitor developments. He wouldnt be cheap of course with PSG having spent £54.3million on the 26-year-old."
So does he really want to leave Paris after just months at the club, with a World Cup on the horizon?
It doesn't sound like it. One of his agents has been speaking in Italy and dismissed suggestions he was unhappy in the French capital.
Claudio Anellucci told Italian television show Football Clan: "There is nothing that is brewing. He remains in Paris.
"He's fine. Miss Napoli? No. It was a nice chapter, like the one in Palermo, but he goes on always trying to improve as a player and his experience. Paris is an important moment for him."
Chelsea and United's hopes to sign the player were rated as hopeful-desperate at best, and we'd rate them even lower now. Expect Cavani to stay exactly where he is at least until the end of the season.
