Tromso 0 - Tottenham Hotspur 2: Spurs get a much needed victory in Norway
ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS claimed his players had
“bounced back” from their 6-0 mauling by Manchester City with their 2-0
win in Tromso. Villas-Boas was smiling after this victory.
Vlad Chiriches and Mousa Dembele both scored in the second half for a surprisingly strong Spurs team.
But Anzhi’s failure to win earlier in the day already meant the north London club were guaranteed top seeding in the Europa League’s knock-out stages. “I am happy for the players to have bounced back from the defeat against City,” said Villas-Boas said.
“Obviously the opponent we have on Sunday is the biggest that we can have.“It was important to get back to winning ways and in a fashion where we looked solid and created lots of chances”Andre Villas-Boas
“It was important to get back to winning ways and in a fashion where we looked solid and created lots of chances.
“Sunday is a different story. But mentally this will give us the confiidence.
“I am extremely happy with what we did here today.
“I watched the United game. It was a good performance but it has no bearing on Sunday.”
