Taylor: Swansea have nothing to fear at City (despite them scoring more home goals than the combined total of any other team)
Neil Taylor says Swansea City’s defenders have nothing to fear when they line up against the Manchester City wrecking ball at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
That might sound like wishful thinking when set in the context that City have won all six of their home matches in the Premier League, scoring more goals at the Etihad – 26 – than any other side has managed home and away combined.
Yet left-back Taylor insisted Swansea can stand up to the £60million frontline of Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo that humiliated Tottenham 6-0 last Sunday.

He said: ‘I think City away is the biggest challenge for anyone in this league with the way they play. We’ll go there and anything is a bonus really.
‘Spurs were under par, but with the players they’ve got - Aguero, (Edin) Dzeko, Negredo - they’ve got four or five front players who would get in any team in the Premier League. They have a great attack, but you pay that amount for people and you expect them to be in a different league. That is just the way it is.
‘They’re playing really well. (Manuel) Pellegrini’s teams are all or nothing and at the moment it’s all.’

Taylor added: ‘They’re getting goals and even if they concede a couple they’re likely to outscore you, but we’ll concentrate on ourselves. It’s nothing to be afraid of.
‘We can test ourselves against the best and that’s what we want to do. It is only football – there is no reason to be scared. You just get on with it. They are playing some great football, but we have played teams in the last couple of years who have been playing great football and stood our ground and got results.’
Swansea’s task has been made considerably more difficult by the loss of Wilfried Bony, who injured his hamstring in the 1-0 defeat against Valencia on Thursday. Laudrup, who is also without Michu, fears the Ivorian striker will be out for ‘several weeks’. He will have a scan on Monday.
