Man City set to start Joe Hart for Europe clash

The England goalkeeper will again be on the bench in today’s big match as City welcome Tottenham to the Etihad.

But Blues manager Manuel Pellegrini sees the visit of Czech club Viktoria Plzen as the perfect opportunity to give the deposed Hart a bite at first-team action again.

Hart performed well on international duty against Germany last Tuesday night.

But the England No.1 is still fighting for his City future, with the club eyeing-up a number of experienced keepers.

Pellegrini, though, is likely to select Hart, 26, against Plzen, with City having already qualified for the knock-out stages of the Champions League.

Romania’s Costel Pantilimon will be in goals today against Spurs in what will be the fifth match Hart has missed since being dropped.
