Wenger rules out striker swoop

Arsene Wenger has played down reports linking Arsenal with Karim Benzema as the striker would not link well with Olivier Giroud.
Wenger is known to be on the look out for another striker and has been heavily linked with a move for the Real Madrid ace, who could be available in January.

However Wenger has suggested the Frenchman would not be able to play alongside Giroud, meaning a move is highly unlikely.

"Karim Benzema? I do not think it is a good idea," he is quoted as saying. "In the France team there has been competition between Olivier Giroud and Karim Benzema. It seems to be complicated."
