Spurs defender Kyle Walker backs Joe Hart for Man City spot
SPURS defender Kyle Walker will be shocked – and
relieved – if Joe Hart is not in goal when Tottenham face Manchester
City today.
Hart has been left out of City’s last four games by manager Manuel Pellegrini following a series of high-profile gaffes.
But
the stopper excelled against Germany for England on Tuesday night,
producing several world-class saves to stop the visitors running riot at
Wembley.
And Walker has backed his Three Lions team-mate to show everyone just what he is made of, saying: “He’s a top professional.
“He’s a winner and I think Joe proved to all the people doubting him just what a top goalkeeper he is against Germany.
“You don’t get all those caps and play for Man City for nothing.“He’s a winner and I think Joe proved to all the people doubting him just what a top goalkeeper he is against Germany”Kyle Walker
“Joe has shown his class and come out and answered the critics. I love playing in the same side as him. He’s a leader, a great keeper and I think we saw that against Germany.”
And while right-back Walker, 23, wants Hart to do well between the posts for England, the same cannot be said for when he is in the light blue of City.
Walker said: “He won’t play for City against us on Sunday? Who knows.
“I am not their manager but if he does play against us, I really hope he doesn’t have as good a game as he did against the Germans.”
