Carrick frustrated by injury lay-off
United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said he was "excited" by BT Sport's recently-signed deal for UEFA Champions League television rights.
Woodward said BT Sport's success in outbidding Sky and ITV to land the 2015-2018 rights for Europe's top club competition would see clubs' incomes increase still further.
The Premier League deal has seen United's broadcasting income rise by 40.9 per cent, but the real driver has been the club's growth in commercial income of 62.6 per cent.
Twelve new sponsorship deals have been signed, including a global contract with Russian airline Aeroflot.
United, which is controlled by the US-based Glazer family, has made a faltering start to the 2013-2014 season under new manager David Moyes after Alex Ferguson stepped up to a boardroom role.
