Chelsea to be part of stunning £80 million duo deals?
Chelsea are braced for a triple raid on Stamford Bridge in January with PSG eyeing Juan Mata, Barcelona chasing David Luiz.
PSG were reportedly interested in Mata over the summer and despite
both Chelsea and the Spaniard downplaying the prospect of a move, PSG
are ready to test the Blues resolve with a £40m bid for the player in
January, according to reports.
The Paris club are hopeful that Jose Mourinho’s continued preference for Oscar, and Mata’s general lack of playing time this season, will
persuade the 25-year-old that his future lies across the Channel as he looks to cement his place on the plane to Brazil for the World Cup with the Spanish national team.
Likewise Barcelona have watched Luiz closely and have seen the return to form of John Terry, and the faith Mourinho has placed in his former stalwart, as a sign that the Brazilian defender could well be available.
Barca’s defensive difficulties were well-documented over the summer and Martino is on record as saying that he will reassess the situation in January. (Daily Express)
It would be a massive blow to the squad if both men did leave
