Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Fernando Torres will miss Saturday's trip to West Ham.Torres missed the Blues' clashes with Schalke and West Brom after picking up a leg injury in training and has not recovered in time to be included for the trip to Upton Park.
In the Spaniard's absence, Samuel Eto'o is once again expected to lead the line and will look to continue the run of form which has seen him find the net in each of his last two matches.
Mourinho also confirmed that Ashley Cole is in contention to start against West Ham after losing his place at left back to Cesar Azpilicueta as a result of a poor performance against Newcastle.
The Chelsea boss also took the opportunity to respond to the news that referee chief Mike Riley apologized to Steve Clarke for Andre Marriner's decision to award Chelsea a last-gasp penalty against West Brom.
"I am curious to know if Steve Bruce got a phone call, if Chris Hughton got a phone call, if [Michael] Laudrup got a phone call ... nobody called me to apologize. It wasn't a free kick against West Brom for the second goal, or for a penalty against Everton," he told reporters.
"I am curious to know if people see that as a normal situation, if now on it is going to be the same for everybody. If, hypothetically, [referees] make a mistake, they are publicly exposed by their own boss."
