Newcastle skipper Fabricio Coloccini reiterates desire to leave St James' Park
A year after trying to force a move, the Argentina defender revealed he would like to move back home "as soon as possible"
Newcastle skipper Fabricio Coloccini has expressed his desire to return to Argentina.
The 31-year-old agitated for a move home due to personal reasons last January , and this week told Argentine sports daily Olé that he is still keen to play for former club San Lorenzo.
Asked whether a transfer is inevitable in the short term, Coloccini revealed:
"We did everything possible to return to Argentina, but obviously Newcastle have the final say.
"They are the club that invested in me... and you have to respect that.
"The truth is I don't want to get my hopes up. Hopefully it will be as soon as possible."
