Mourinho wants £33 million rated star to sign three-year deal

Jose Mourinho has threatened to let Thibaut Courtois rot on the bench at Stamford Bridge rather than let him leave for Barcelona.

Reports in Spain suggest that Mourinho wants Courtois to forget about joined Barca and instead sign a new contract with the Blues.

However, the Belgian international stopper insists he will not return to London without assurances about first team football.


But Mourinho has refused to be drawn on whether current custodian Petr Cech will be asked to make way for Courtois next season.

The problem for the youngster is that he has a contract at Chelsea until June 2016, and Mourinho is under no compulsion to let Courtois leave before that.
