Mourinho to make ‘seriious’ bid for £60 million man as Chelsea to offer £450,000-a-week wages
Reports have claimed Chelsea are serious about signing Colombian striker Radamel Falcao in January.
Reports in France suggest that instead of holding off until the
summer Chelsea will make a pre-emptive strike in the upcoming transfer
window in an attempt to bring the hitman to Stamford Bridge.
It is thought that Portugese winger Cristiano Ronaldo has personally appealed to Real president Florentino Perez to sign Falcao but Chelsea are preparing to rival the Spanish giants.
According to Le10Sport there are a number of factors in Chelsea’s favour in the race to sign the 27-year-old.
Firstly, Monaco are looking to offload Falcao in order to comply with UEFA’s incoming financial FairPlay regulations.
Secondly, the relationship between Monaco owner Dmitry Rybolovlev and fellow Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich could smooth the way for a transfer.
Finally, Falcao is represented by Portugese agent Jorge Mendes, who also happens to be the agent of Blues boss Jose Mourinho. (Daily Express)
The man is world class and if his massive £60 million valuation is met along with his massive £450,000-a-week wages, then they will get their man
