Guinness congratulates Eagles

One of the sponsors of the Super Eagles, Guinness, has congratulated the team for qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil after defeating the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopian 2-0 on Saturday in Calabar.

Managing Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Mr. Seni Adetu, described the victory as a worthy gift to Nigerians.

“It is quite a joyous evening and refreshing to see the Super Eagles triumph over the Walya Antelopes. With this sweet victory, the stage is now set for the team’s grand appearance at the World cup in Brazil in 2014. Nigeria as a nation is proud of this achievement and we at Guinness are very excited and looking forward to Eagles scintillating display,” Adetu said.

After the match, Guinness presented a cheque of $4,000 to the team for the two goals scored.

The company’s Marketing and Innovation Director, Mr. Austin Ufomba, said the team showed that they were true champions of Africa .

“The Super Eagles have shown that with the necessary support, they can conquer the world. Now that they have qualified for the World Cup, Guinness is set to Fly with the Eagles again to Brazil, and we urge our esteemed consumers and fans to come on board,” Ufomba said.
