Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey believes this could have a very successful season for his side after they beat Liverpool 2-0 on Saturday to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.

The Wales international sealed the win for the Gunners with his 10th goal of the season in the second half after Santi Cazorla had given the hosts the advantage in the first period.


The north Londoners now sit five points clear of Chelsea and Liverpool at the summit of the table and Ramsey thinks it could be a massive year for Arsene Wenger’s side.

He said: "We really enjoyed it today, everyone was up for it. The fans were right behind us, and we got stuck into them early on.


"They are full of confidence as well at the moment. They showed that early on, and we weathered the storm.
"I am feeling a lot more confident in front of goal, and that is up there with the best I've scored.
"We have had to play catch up in the last few seasons. If we get ourselves into a strong position coming into January, I think we will have a very successful season."
