AC Milan have made contact with Paolo Maldini about returning to the club.
Sky Italia says Milan president Silvio Berlusconi and No2 Adriano Galliani held lengthy talks after defeat to Fiorentina on Saturday.
The pair decided to stick with coach Massimiliano Allegri for now, but are ready to make changes under him. Among those will be Maldini's return to the club.
The Milan legend is currently out of work and has been approached by the club about a coaching role.
