Three free agent centre-backs Manchester City could consider
Manchester City are light at centre-back, could they look at any of these three players?
The man brought in shortly before deadline, Martin Demichelis, has since injured his knee and also faces weeks on the sidelines leaving Matija Nastasic and Joleon Lescott as the only fit centre-backs, with Karim Rekik sent out on loan to the Russian Premier League.
There are still a handful of free agents left on the market, so could any of them fit the bill and do a job for City as a stop-gap?
We've discarded names such as Titus Bramble and Jean Alain Boumsong who are both looking for a club, and selected three with a pedigree to suggest they could...
Manuel Freidrich
Manuel Freidrich was released by Bayer Leverkusen this summer, less than two years after heading a Champions League group stage winner over Chelsea. Freidrich is 33 and a former German international of nine caps. He made 18 appearances last season for club including five Europa League matches, scoring twice.
William Gallas
A well known figure to fans of the Premier League, Gallas has played for London trio Chelsea, Arsenal and latterly Tottenham. The former French international is 36 but is said to still be looking for an opportunity, and City would be getting a stop-gap who knows the league and could slot straight in, as well as bringing leadership skills to the club.
Glenn Loovens
Former Dutch international Glenn Loovens is 29 and searching for a club after being released by Real Zaragoza over the summer, where he made 21 appearances last season. Loovens played four seasons at Cardiff before spending another four at Celtic who he cost £2.1 million, leaving the Bhoys in 2012 for La Liga. He has Champions League experience from his time at Celtic and is the youngest of the trio.
Would you like to see any of the trio brought on board on a short-term deal? Do City have enough to get by?
