Roberto Mancini taking over at Galatasaray was first broken by Sportsmail a week ago
Manchester City sacked Mancini at the tail end of last season after losing the FA Cup final against Wigan in a shock result.
Now, having taken over the helm at Galatasaray, his first match in charge will be back in his homeland of Italy in a Champions League tie against Juventus.
Turkish delight: Roberto Mancini arrives in Turkey to take charge of Galatasaray
Boiling point: Mancini could face Carlos Tevez in his first match in charge, with the two arguing at City
The Italian side captured striker
Carlos Tevez from City in the summer, after a protracted saga during
Tevez's time in England under Mancini.
The pair regularly fell out, culminating in Tevez going on strike during the 2011-12 season, before being coaxed back into the set-up and helping fire City to the title.
However, Tevez could well be out of Wednesday's Champions League tie with a foot injury, while Mancini could hand over the reigns so soon after taking the helm.
Mancini has requested a clause allowing him to leave the Turkish club if he is offered an opportunity to manage the Italian national team. Galatasaray have agreed to the condition.
With bonuses, Mancini could boost his yearly earnings up to €7m if he retains the Turkish league and improves upon Terim's last-eight appearance in last season's Champions League.
