Chelsea and Tottenham stars dominate top 5 Premier League chance creators list
Stats courtesy of Squawka.
5) Andre Schurrle – Chelsea – 12 chances created
4) Moussa Sissoko – Newcastle – 12 chances created
Newcastle’s powerful midfielder took the league by storm when he arrived last January, dominating matches with his all-action style and immense physical stature. Despite his form dropping off towards the end of last term, he seems to have now added some finesse to his play, and he will be hoping the chances he creates are soon turned into genuine assists.
3) Michu – Swansea – 12 chances created
Despite scoring 18 Premier League goals last term, the Spanish forward now plays in a withdrawn no.10 role behind record signing Wilfried Bony – and he is becoming the creative hub of Michael Laudrup’s fluid, footballing side. Michu has already created 12 chances this term, and scored two league goals.
2) Kyle Walker – Tottenham – 13 chances created
Only one player in the Premier league has created more chances so far this season than Spurs’ ultra-adventurous fullback. What Walker lacks in defensive acumen, he more than makes up for in endless energy down the right-flank, shown by the 13 goal scoring opportunities he’s already made.
1) Eden Hazard – Chelsea – 14 chances created
At just 22-years-old, Hazard is already regarded as a world-class attacker, and despite the wealth of attacking options at Jose Mourinho’s disposal, the Belgian flyer is the first name on his team sheet. Hazard’s lightning pace and tricky feet has helped him create 14 chances for his teammates already this season, and don’t be surprised if he tops this list come the end of the season.
