Arsenal could be handed a huge boost with the news that influential midfielder Mikel Arteta could return earlier than expected and feature in his first game of the season after recovering from a thigh injury.
Manager Arsene Wenger said: “He is one of our leaders and we are happy to have him back.”
However,  Santi Cazorla, Yaya Sanogo, Abou Diaby, Tomas Rosicky, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski are all still on the sidelines and will miss the clash with Mark Hughes’ men.

Stoke forward Marco Arnautovic could be in line to make his full debut for the club after impressing as a substitute against Manchester City.

But boss Mark Hughes has injury troubles of his own and is without Mark Muniesa, Glenn Whelan and Jamie Ness because of injury.

Stoke have lost all five previous visits to Arsenal in the Premier League and will be looking to remove the hoodoo surrounding their visits to north London but In 14 meetings between Arsene Wenger and Mark Hughes, the Frenchman has the edge with eight wins to the Welshman’s four.
