Imoke pledges houses to Eaglets
Cross
River State Governor, Liyel Imoke, has pledged houses to the Golden
Eaglets and the team officials. The property will be located within the
state’s new housing estate scheme in Calabar.
Imoke made the pledge during a special session held in honour of the team at his office on Friday.
He said it was necessary to break away
from the norm in order to give a befitting future to the players and
officials by rewarding the team with properties instead of money.
“I don’t want us to forget the fact that
the success of this team was not by accident. Success is different from
luck but it is earned; and we will like to celebrate this team in a
different way because it was here in Calabar that it all started,” Imoke
said.
