NBA Star, Michael Beasley Losses Contract For Smoking Too Much Marijuana
Michael Beasley’s weed smoking cost him his NBA contract. The Phoenix Suns announced yesterday (Sept. 3) that they have terminated the enigmatic 24-year-old forward’s contract after he was popped for marijuana possession in early August. According to NBA.com, the Suns will pay Beasley $7 million to move along, which saves them the additional $2 million he would have been due if they waived the Maryland native. A no. 2 picked in the 2008 NBA Draft, Beasley was charged with felony marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia in Arizona last month. According to authorities, the car Beasley was driving when he was pulled over reeked of marijuana, which was also found when the vehicle was searched. |
