England dreading the World Cup draw
ENGLAND could be facing double trouble at Friday’s World Cup Finals draw in Brazil.
And that means England could be moved out their current European pot.
France were in line to go into Pot Two as the lowest ranked nation from the UEFA qualifying phase.“”
But world football’s governing body will instead pull one European team out of a hat at random to decide who moves.
That nation will be then be forced to play against one of the top-ranked South American sides in the group stage – either Brazil, Argentina, Colombia or
Uruguay.
As a result, they would avoid any of the top-seeded European nations – Spain, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland.
It means there are now TWO potential nightmare scenarios for the Three Lions.
If they stay in Pot Four, England could be drawn in a ‘Group of Death’ including Spain, Chile and USA.
But if they are moved to Pot Two, Roy Hodgson’s boys could face Brazil, USA and Holland.
A dream draw from Pot Four would be Switzerland, Algeria and Iran, while the easiest games from Pot Two would arguably be Uruguay, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
