The Switzerland international actually spent some time with Liverpool in a loan spell during his youth career, though he wasn't offered a permanent move to Anfield at the time.
However, he has progressed remarkably since then, and has been a stand-out performer for the struggling Cottagers this season, notably scoring a goal-of-the-season contender away to Crystal Palace.
Juventus have also been linked with the 21-year-old, and he is likely to attract further interest, particularly with Fulham currently looking among the favourites to get relegated this season.
