Wojciech Szczesny confident Arsenal will win silverware
WOJCIECH SZCZESNY claims Arsenal will silence their remaining doubters by ending their silverware drought.
Arsenal are finally beginning to be talked about as genuine contenders again after failing to win a trophy since 2005.
Not all of their critics are convinced just yet, though, despite notable wins over Tottenham, Liverpool, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.
Arsenal are coming off the back of a 1-0 defeat at Manchester United and Pole Szczesny said: "I wouldn't say we have proved everyone wrong and passed all the tests.
Work "I will say that when we get our hands on a trophy in May.
"What is important is what we believe in and we believe that we are good enough, with the players we have got and the work we are doing, to win the Premier League."“"What is important is what we believe in and we believe that we are good enough to win the Premier League”Wojciech Szczesny
Arsenal's chances of continuing to set the pace at home and abroad are likely to hinge on whether they can bring in some more firepower in January.
They have been heavily reliant on striker Olivier Giroud so far this season.
And boss Arsene Wenger is keen to land another front man to ease some of the burden on the overworked Frenchman. But Szczesny said: "We know that if we just carry on doing the same things, we will show people that this team and these players are good enough to win a trophy without any extra additions or extra work. We believe we can do it."
Germany star Julian Draxler has ruled out a January move to the Emirates, but admits he could make the switch at the end of the season.
But he has revealed that compatriots Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil have been trying to twist his arm about joining them in north London.
"I have to look at what is best for me, and I will do in the summer again, and we'll see what happens," said the 20-year-old.
"You never know what will happen in the summer, but Arsenal is a very, very nice team. They always have very young players, they play attractive football and that's what I like. "I sometimes speak to Mesut or Per about the team, about the club, and they always have good words and they tell me nice things."
