Swedish international set to snub Manchester City

PSG attacker Zlatan IbrahimovicZlatan Ibrahimovic is set to snub interest from Manchester City and sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain, according to Metro.

The Swedish international forward has been linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 champions following the arrival of Edinson Cavani, but it seems the club are ready to offer him a new deal in order to fend off interest from other clubs.

Manchester City have arguably been the team most strongly linked, with reports in France suggesting a January move might be in the pipline.
However PSG have looked to put an end to the speculation by reportedly offering the 31-year-old a one year extension on his current deal.

The deal would tie the forward to the club until 2016, whilst also giving him a huge wage increase.
Ibrahimovic is currently thought to be on £210,000 a week at the Parc Des Princes, but this would increase to £250,000 should he sign the extension.

The Swede has previously stated his desire to play in England, having previously been rejected by Arsenal as a 16-year-old.

However it now appears as though he is set to see out his playing career in Paris, a reward for the goals which fired them to the Ligue 1 Championship last season.
