Martin Skrtel 'to leave Liverpool in January'
LIVERPOOL defender Martin Skrtel has been backed to leave the club in favour of a move to Napoli in January.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Benitez has a list of potential loan signings he wants to explore over the coming weeks, including Skrtel.
But Rodgers may be unwilling to let the 28-year-old leave, having seen him impress against Manchester United, with the team keeping a clean sheet in the process.
Skrtel had previously indicated he was open to a move away from the club, telling the press: "Anything is possible."
"There are alternatives, but my priority at the time is to recover from my injury."
And Anfield legend Jan Molby has also questioned the centre back's future at the club, commenting in a recent column: "Mamadou Sakho and Thiago Ilori can be excellent acquisitions for the club – even if they do pose questions about the long-term prospects of Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure.“Martin Skrtel has been linked with a move away from Liverpool”
"Martin didn’t put a foot wrong against Manchester United – although that’s a great fixture for a player to come back into after a spell out of the team."
