Eagles make us proud – TomTom

Emenike
TomTom, the official candy of the Nigerian national football teams, has praised the Super Eagles for booking a place in the play-off stage of the Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers at the expense of Malawi and then dispatching Burkina Faso 4-1 three days after in an international friendly match.

Two goals from Emmanuel Emenike in the 44th minute and Victor Moses in the 51st minute (penalty) were all the Eagles needed to shut the boastful Malawians up who were trailing Nigeria by two points. On Tuesday in Kaduna, they defeated Burkina Faso as Brown Ideye, Shola Ameobi and again Emmanuel Emenike netted four goals before the Burkinabes scored in the late minute of the match.

In a statement by the Category Brand Manager, Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Vincent Emokpaire, TomTom expressed delight that the Nigerian team had justified the confidence reposed in it by rising up to the occasions to cut the Malawians who had earlier boasted of coming to beat the Eagles on their home soil to size and beating the African Nations cup runners-up.

“Instead of engaging the Malawians in a media war, the Super Eagles chose to answer them on the pitch. From the blast of the whistle to the end, they took the fight to the Malawians who were forced most times to stay back to contain the rampaging Nigerian attackers. That is the way of champions and we are proud of that,” Emokpaire said.

He urged the Eagles to play the remaining two matches with strong determination as true African Champions just as they did in the group stage to ensure Nigeria’s flag is hoisted at the Brazil 2014 World Cup. He reiterated that the team would not lack support of any kind as TomTom, the True Fan of the national teams, would not waver in rallying behind them to ensure they achieve results that bring soothing relief to Nigerians.
This, he said, was demonstrated last weekend when TomTom offered $5000 for the Most Valuable Player of the World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Malawi. Mikel Obi was voted MVP and was presented with his prize shortly after the game.
