Adrien Anigo, 30, was attacked at close range
while driving through the 13th arrondissement of the city en route to
his children's school
The son of Olympique de Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has been shot dead in the streets of Marseille.Adrien Anigo was driving through the 13th arrondissement of the city in his car when he was approached by two individuals on a motorcycle at around 15:45CET on Thursday.
The pair took aim and shot the 30-year-old at close range, according to Robin Brice, the public prosecutor in the region.
The murder brings the tally of such deaths to 15 since the beginning of the year.
Reflecting on the death of his son, Anigo said: "When I said this city eats its children, I was right. And now it's happened. They took my son."
Adrien Anigo had been en route to picking up his children from school.
