Manchester United must sell players before buying in January due to rules
Transfers
Ben Amos is currently returning from his loan spell on January 1 but if he was to have his loan extended until the end of the season, it would free up a spot for an arrival.
Other than Amos, the squad is made up of players who have all featured for United this season in some capacity and Moyes would have to make a swift decision on who to potentially show the exit door to in order to free up a space or two in the squad list.
Here is the squad list in full and those in bold are ones that could realistically leave in January to free up space.
De Gea Quintana, David (No)
De Abreu Oliveira, Anderson Luis (No)
Amos, Benjamin Paul (Yes)
Carrick, Michael (Yes)
Cleverley, Thomas William (Yes)
Lindegaard, Anders Rozenkrantz (No)
Hernandez Balcazar, Javier (No)
Evans, Jonathan Grant (Yes)
Evra, Patrice Latyr (No)
Ferdinand, Rio Gavin (Yes)
Giggs, Ryan Joseph (Yes)
Almedia Da Cunha, Luis Carlos (No)
Smalling, Christopher (Yes)
Valencia Mosquera, Luis Antonio (No)
Rooney, Wayne Mark (Yes)
Vidic, Nemanja (No)
Welbeck, Daniel (Yes)
Young, Ashley Simon (Yes)
Van Persie, Robin (No)
Kagawa, Shinji (No)
Pereira da Silva, Rafael (Yes)
Pereira da Silva, Fabio (Yes)
Buttner, Alexander (No)
Fletcher, Darren Barr (Yes)
Fellaini Bakkioui, Marouane (No)
For me, there are only two choices – Anderson and Fabio.
Both Brazilians could move back to Brazil ahead of the World Cup and potentially take part in the 2014 Libertadores. Neither have found a settled place under Moyes and are, unfortunately, the most likely to leave United in order for new faces to come in.
Of course, if United do not sign anybody in January then there is no need for either to leave but judging by the way things have been discussed so far, Moyes has every intention of bringing in some reinforcements.
Which players do you think Manchester United should look to loan or sell in order for there to be space for January arrivals? Do you think that we should make any signings in January at all?
