Coventry 2 - Hartlepool 1: Super Leon Clarke at double
A DOUBLE strike from Coventry’s Leon Clarke set up a third round date with Danny Wilson’s Barnsley.

Clarke pounced in the third minute of stoppage time to break Hartlepool’s hearts.
It
had looked as if Jack Baldwin’s late header would send the tie into
extra-time as he bulleted the ball home following a Matty Dolan corner
kick after 88 minutes.
But the prolific Clarke
had other ideas with his 14th goal of the season, pouncing on a loose
ball after a fierce shot from outside the box by Cyrus Christie.
Clarke’s 13th goal of the season had come when he broke the deadlock
with a cool finish nine minutes before the break.
City boss Steven Pressley said: “Leon Clarke is a striker of phenomenal quality at this level.
“He’s scored two excellent goals for us tonight but we know that football is a team effort.”
