David Moyes faces tug of war over Nick Powell

However, Wigan boss Uwe Rosler has admitted that he would like to keep the high flying 19-year-old for the remainder of the season and has already contacted Moyes to discuss the potential deal.
“I contacted David Moyes at United two days ago to ask about Nick and we will be having a dialogue in the near future. I want Nick to stay here until the end of the season,” Rosler said.
“I want to promote a culture of excellent football at Wigan and players like Nick will flourish here. I hope United see it the same way.”
Powell scored a brilliant overhead kick for Wigan yesterday to make it seven goals in 18 appearances for the Championship side, so it isn’t hard to see why both Moyes and Rosler want him in their respective squads.
However, keeping Powell at Wigan is the best move for the youngster this season.
At Wigan, he has established himself as a central player in their side and that hasn’t changed since the arrival of Rosler who has made him a vital cog in their side. He is flying high at Wigan, progressing and flourishing with the regular first team football. It would be a big gamble by Moyes to let Powell walk away from that and go on loan to the Premier League.
There would no doubt be a host of teams ready to take Powell on but it could end up being a loan spell akin to Angelo Henriquez at Wigan last year with minimal game time.
Moyes would understandably want Powell to get Premier League experience before he blooded him into the first team but for how good he is doing right now at Wigan, it would be silly to risk losing that.
Do you think David Moyes should let Nick Powell stay at Wigan for the season?
