Wenger Willing to Take Up Smoking Issue Directly With Wilshere.
Wilshere was pictured in a newspaper puffing on a cigarette and speaking to a blonde female outside a London nightclub on Thursday morning as players wound down following Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Napoli on Tuesday night.
“I disagree completely with that behaviour,” Wenger said during his pre-game conference on Friday. “I don’t know really what happened, so I will need to have a chat with him about that.
“You don’t do what damages your health as a footballer. You damage your reputation when you do that in public.”
When quizzed on whether he would take a disciplinary action against the 21-year-old, the manager replied:
“I don’t know what happened so I can’t talk about any punishment.”
“Wilshere is a very important player here, my future plans have always been built around Jack,” Wenger stressed.
It’s been reported that he and his Arsenal team-mates were given permission to celebrate their impressive win at the Dstrkt Club in central London.
The midfielders tweeted a picture with his new born daughter Delilah Grace last week.
