Suarez, Arteta and…? 10 players to watch this weekend

Arteta Arsenal
wonker

Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Everton, Manchester City, Sunderland, Cardiff, Stoke, West Ham and Fulham feature.

Luis Suarez
Suarez tried to engineer a move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer after Arsenal put a bid in for him. The Uruguayan goes into this game after a very good hat-trick against West Brom in the hope of being a thorn in the Arsenal side. Will he be the key to Liverpool’s chances of winning against the table toppers?

Javier Hernandez
Hernandez has scored a late winner in the league and scored a brace against Norwich in the League Cup so he can’t do much more to try and get a starting place for this weekend’s game against Fulham. Will Moyes recognise his hard work?

Dimitar Berbatov

Which incarnation of the former Manchester United man will turn up against his old club for Fulham? If it’s the top class version of the Bulgarian, United’s defence could have their hands full and it may be a difficult afternoon for Moyes and his boys.

Stewart Downing
Downing comes up against one of his former clubs this weekend in Aston Villa. He isn’t exactly fondly thought of by the Villa faithful after leaving for Liverpool two years ago. Will he be able to help the West Ham side have the final word?

Peter Crouch
Crouch got in amongst the goals last weekend at Old Trafford for Stoke so he may keep his place in the side for the visit of his former club Southampton. Southampton have the meanest defence in the league this season, so Crouch could have a very big task in delivering the goals against his former side.

Steven Pienaar
Pienaar spent a brief spell at White Hart Lane but when he struggled to get into the Tottenham team he returned to Everton. He might want to remind Spurs just how much they could have got out of him when the two sides meet this weekend.

Joe Hart
After all of the talk this week about his place in the side, it is going to be fascinating to watch Joe Hart whether he is starting against Norwich or on the bench. His selection/non-selection is bound to be a talking point this coming weekend.

Fabio Borini
After scoring the winner against Newcastle to lift Sunderland off the bottom of the table, will Borini get another chance to shine against Hull City, and build up a spell of good form?

Craig Bellamy
A massive game for Cardiff and a massive game for Craig Bellamy to captain his side in as they host fierce rivals Swansea. Bellamy’s performance will need to set the tone for the rest of his side to follow.

Mikel Arteta
With the absence of Mathieu Flamini in the Arsenal midfielder against Liverpool there will be a lot more responsibility on the shoulders of Mikel Arteta. If he can make up for the absence of Flamini then there’s not much more he can do.
