Newcastle: Coloccini set for long injurty lay-off

Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini could be out of action until Christmas after injuring his groin whilst on international duty with Argentina.

The 31-year-old missed his country’s 3-1 World Cup qualification victory over Peru and also sat out of Newcastle’s 2-2 home draw with Liverpool at the weekend.

The defender is now likely to be on the sidelines for eight weeks and could miss up to ten games for the Magpies.
The injury news is a huge blow for Newcastle manager Alan Pardew who is also without the suspended Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa after his red card against Liverpool.
