Liverpool line up January move for Anzhi ace
Liverpool are lining up a January move for Anzhi Makhachkala star Lacina Traore, according to the Daily Mail.
The Reds have been linked with the Ivorian for the last two seasons, and could be ready to pounce after he was told he an leave the Russian side.
Brendan Rodgers was close to signing Traore last season, only for Anzhi to cancel the deal late on. But due to Anzhi’s poor financial position, that has seen Samuel Eto’o, Willian and Chris Samba leave the club this summer, the Russian side could be ready to finally agree on selling the striker.
Dmitry Selyuk, the agent of the 6ft 8in forward, said: “If a good offer arrives that suits us then Lacina is free to leave in January.”
“The demand for him is huge in Russia and especially in Europe.”
Despite having the successful in-form partnership of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez at his disposal, Rodgers is still looking at adding to his striking options, and finally bring the Ivorian international to Anfield.
Traore scored 12 goals for Anzhi last season, and already has one to his name this campaign after three matches.
The forward, who was once linked in a £15million move to Arsenal, could leave for half that fee due to Anzhi’s financial crisis.
