Arsenal dealt huge blow
Arsenal new-boy Mesut Ozil continued his impressive run of form with a goal for Germany last night, before being subbed off after sustaining a hamstring injury, The Daily Mail reports.
The midfielder scored his side’s first goal as they came from 2-0 down to emerge 5-3 winners against Sweden, but was unable to complete the match, picking up a knock just eight minutes from time.
It was a cruel blow for the German, whose impressive performances since his £42.5m move from Real Madrid have helped propel the Gunners to the top of the Premier League.
Now, however, Arsenal fans face an uncertain wait to see whether he will be fit for the visit of Norwich City to the Emirates on Saturday and that of Borrusia Dortmund in the Champions League three days later.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be anxious for Ozil to get back to fitness as quickly as possible but could be boosted by the scheduled returns of Theo Walcott and Santi-Cazorla this week.
