Boss confirms World-class Arsenal deal was close but January Chelsea deal is on

Laurent Blanc has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain were on the verge of signing Arsenal new-boy Mesut Ozil on deadline day, while declaring their interest in Juan Mata.

Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for a club-record £42.5million on the last day of the transfer window, while Mata continues to be linked with an exit from Chelsea.
And former France manager Blanc – now in charge of PSG – claims the Ligue 1 champions were interested in both players, and nearly snatched Ozil from under Arsene Wenger’s grasp.
“Ozil and Mata would have done well,” said Blanc. (Daily Express)
The Gunners are obviously glad they got Ozil, but Chelsea fans will be very upset if Mata leaves
