Ashley Cole feels Frank Lampard fully deserves 100th England cap
Ashley Cole has heaped praise on
Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard as he prepares to make his 100th
appearance for England against Ukraine.
Lampard has enjoyed a glittering career with club and country and Cole feels this honour is a fitting reward for his loyal service.
"I don't think he needs me to give him any advice so it'll probably be a pat on the back and just congratulate him," Cole told Chelsea's official website.
"It's a great achievement, I think he was very nice with the comments he made about me when I did it and the same when Stevie G did it.
"I think if there's another player that does deserve it, it's him. He's never injured, he always turns up and wants to represent his country. He's looking forward to this day.
"So I'm very happy for him and hopefully we can get a good result for him as well. My game was a bit easier because it was a friendly, he's going into a big game with 100 caps on his mind but it's a great achievement and hopefully we can get a good result for him as well."
The other England centurions are Billy Wright, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Peter Shilton, David Beckham and Steven Gerrard.
