Terry, 33 yesterday, has won three titles, four FA Cups, two league cups and has a Champions League winner's medal.

The central defender has made 593 appearances for the club and scored 57 goals and thanks Chelsea fans for sticking with him during troubled times.

He said: "The statistics don't lie and my career doesn't lie.
"The fans have been patient with me throughout my whole career.
"Hopefully I've got a lot more to give for them and the football club. Hopefully these milestones will keep coming."

Chelsea, who have already qualified for the knockout stage, know a win against bottom club Steaua - who they hammered 4-0 away from home - would guarantee that they finish on top of Group E.
