Vidic keeps faith in United

Vidic
Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic still has faith in his side, despite their shaky start to the season.
The Premier League champions began their title defence under new manager David Moyes with a resounding opening-day 4-1 win at Swansea City, but they have since collected just four points from their next five games.

That sequence included defeats at arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester City, while West Brom won 2-1 at Old Trafford in their last league game.

United have, however, taken four points from their first two UEFA Champions League fixtures, and Vidic has insisted they are ready to take that sort of form into their domestic outings.
“We have to accept it has not been a great start,” the Serb said.

“We have not been getting the performances we would have liked and we also have to be realistic enough to accept we have made some mistakes.
“This team has a lot of potential and we are working really well.

“Sometimes the results don’t come. Sometimes the performances don’t come. But I am really positive.
“The most important thing is to defend right. If we defend well, I think we have a really good chance to win trophies. You don’t want to make mistakes two or three times.

“That is the main thing. Once you have made one, don’t do it again. That is the thing we have to learn.”
United travel to bottom-placed Sunderland, who are still without a permanent manager following the departure of Paolo Di Canio, this Saturday.
