Man Utd: Ferdinand admits he "must do better"

Rio Ferdinand admitted on Twitter that he has been playing below his usual standards this season after being praised by a Manchester United fan.

A supporter wrote: “I love your defending man”.

After seeing the positive tweet, Ferdinand honestly replied: “You missed my last couple of games obviously #WillDoBetter”.

Ferdinand came under fire for his performance in the 4-1 Manchester derby thrashing at the hands of Manchester City, and was also criticised for his display in the 2-1 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

United currently sit 12th in the league, with just seven points from their opening six games, and face managerless Sunderland this weekend.
