AVB silent on £85m crock reports
Bale has made just three appearances for Real since completing a world record £85 million transfer from Spurs in September, with Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti citing concerns over the player's fitness.
The Wales international forward is currently completing an individual training programme designed to compensate for a lack of pre-season preparation at Spurs, where Bale's training was disrupted by protracted negotiations over his summer transfer.
However, reports in Spain have since emerged suggesting Bale is in fact suffering from a far more serious problem that may have previously gone undetected.
Spanish newspaper Marca has reported Bale may even have to undergo an operation to solve a back injury that could keep the player out indefinitely if left untreated, something both player and club have denied.
Speaking to reporters, Villas-Boas refused to comment on the reports.
He said: “He is no longer one of my players so I cannot comment.”
Madrid are currently third in the Spanish season table, five points behing early joint leaders Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, who have both won each of their opening eight matches.
