Kevin Strootman is ‘very happy’ at AS Roma and feels that his long term future will be at the Serie A club.
Strootman was heavily linked with a move to United in the summer and despite his then manager Dick Advocaat hailing him as the perfect midfielder for United, he moved to AS Roma instead.

Since arriving in Italy, Strootman has cemented his place as one of the league’s best midfielder and AS Roma have had the best ever start to a league season in Europe, sitting just three points off Juventus at the top of Serie A.

Despite potentially rekindled interest from United in what is set to be a busy January for David Moyes, his agent Chiel Dekker has confirmed that Strootman has absolutely no intention of leaving AS Roma any time soon.
“Kevin is very happy in Rome and his intention is to stay here for a long time,” Dekker told Sky Sports.
“They have started a project and a new team and he has adapted well to his new club.”

There were some initial doubts among United fans who watched Strootman with Holland’s Under-21s in the European Championship and were not impressed by what they saw.
However, he has proved to be a bargain at approximately €15 million and it looks like United may well have missed a trick with Strootman last summer.
