No problem settling down in Turkey –Azuka

azu
Just like he has been able to easily learn how to pronounce his new club’s tongue-twister name, Kahramanmaraşspor, Super Eagles striker, Izu Azuka, has adapted to life easily in Turkey.

Azuka, who has played in Algeria (JS Kabylie), Libya (Al-Ittihad Tripoli) and Tunisia (Espérance and CS Hammam-Lif), agreed a year’s loan with the Turkish second division side from Sunshine Stars.

And he has Nigerian company in 2007 U-17 World Cup winner Ganiu  Oseni, who signed a two-year contract with the club.

He said, “We had another Nigerian in the club, Chibuzor Madu but he has returned home. Apart from Ganiu, I have only seen Raheem Lawal.

“Life is cool in Turkey. North African football is almost like European football, so it wasn’t difficult settling down. But I would say Turkish football is more advanced than what you have in North Africa, so my game is improving by the day.” After scoring two goals in his first three games, Azuka is hoping to help Kahramanmaraşspor gain promotion to Turkey’s elite league next season.

“I intend to help Kahramanmaraşspor play in the Super Liga and also aim higher for a bigger team from here. Turkey is a nice stepping stone to Europe,” he stated.
