Jol sent packing by Cottagers
Jol: Out of a job again
------------------------------------------------------------
The Cottagers are currently in 18th place after 13 rounds of fixtures, and are three points behind 17th-placed Cardiff City.
As a result of their lowly position in the table, and the below-par performances that got them there, the west London club have decided to shake things up.
Cottagers chairman Shahid Kahn told the club's official website: "Our poor form and results this season are undeniable, and Fulham supporters deserve better.
"With more than half the season still ahead, an immediate change was necessary."
The writing was probably on the wall even before the 3-0 hammering at West Ham on Saturday, as Jol's replacement, Rene Meulensteen, was appointed as head coach to assist the now axed Dutch tactician just last month.
Kahn added: "Rene Meulensteen was brought to Fulham to assist Martin and today was offered the challenge and opportunity to step in for Martin.
"I thank Rene for accepting and now we move forward. I have great confidence in Rene and high expectations for our squad to respond."
