Cambiasso: Inter need to be more clinical
The Nerazzurri's veteran midfielder believes they
need to be more ruthless in front of goal and was disappointed with his
side's dropped points at home to Sampdoria
Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso bemoaned his side's inability to find a clinical edge after they drew 1-1 at home to Sampdoria. The Nerazzurri opened the scoring through Colombian midfielder Freddy Guarin. However, they were unable to build upon their initial advantage and succumbed to an 89th minute equaliser from Sampdoria substitute Renan.
Inter failed to create too many chances against a resilient Biancocelesti side and Cambiasso was disappointed that they were unable to be more ruthless in front of goal.
Spaeking to Sky Italia after the game, the man of the match said: "We were not as good and attentive as we have been in previous games. These things can happen, after all football is a game, but for sure next time we will be better at exploiting the chances we create."
The result means that Walter Mazzarri's men remain in fourth position, a point and place away from the Champions League spots.
And though Inter extended their unbeaten run to eight games, Cambiasso was irritated that his side were unable to pick up three points and capitalise on Roma's slip-up away to Atalanta.
He added: "Roma drew so our result changes nothing, we are in the same position as before."
